Light square

Italian artist Elisabetta Bacci reveals epistemological and ontological representations of universal cognition and knowledge in her works Untitled, from the Light Square cycle. The artist discards all superfluous, unnecessary details and reduces the visual representation to a refined sign – a display of the ultimate emanation. By reduction, sublimation, concentration accomplished with “shifting” of the focus, Bacci summarizes the mental perception of truth in a “light” square in the centre of the compositions, in the point of enlightenment, a presentation of the The quadrat that denies the feature of representation because it symbolizes pure spirituality and contemplation.
